Re: wm player has Anybody been able to install it on linux?

I don't have any need for WMP but for some of my other I spent $60 on Crossover and have had great success with it for windoze software. Once you purchase you can download both the 32bit and the 64bit and load them on all your personal units. You might go over there and check it out.

Re: can ubuntu's update manager be hacked?

Re: Nebie with RSYNC

You can accomplish this with two rsync commands. rsync will automatically copy over new files and update files with an old timestamp in one move. Re: A required DVD drive device driver is missing.

Just an update. It seems you can get the same message if you remove the flash drive just before selecting "Install". One reason seems to be, you may be using a USB 3.0 port, which is not active during the install process, after the bios changes control, until the OS drivers are loaded. The fix is to...

Also, the fact the software download link they provide is for a torrent and not directly from Microsoft is very questionable.
I wouldn't touch it either.

Re: Office in xp vs windows 7

should be fine,if it is not, then allow the office to run under windows xp compatibility ------------------of course, this is what we call backward compatibility.windows 7 is the latest operating system version at present.you can even install the latest version of MS OFFICE which is MS OFFICE 2010.
