CSGO Mic fix Linux

Post by arifur » Tue Apr 24, 2018 7:46 pm

If you are facing issues with voice in csgo like csgo using pc audio as the mic source or csgo using the wrong mic source then follow the steps below to fix the issue.

Firstly check if Steam has the correct input source or not. By going to Settings > Voice > Test Microphone. If Mic is working on Steam then move on to the next steps if not then try changing the audio source by pressing the Change Device button
  1. Now run CSGO. Set the resolution to something smaller and enable windowed mode
  2. Enable Play Audio When in Background
  3. Start a match with bots and type +voicerecord on console to enable always on voice chat
  4. Now ALT+TAB out of CSGO and run pavucontrol
  5. Navigate to Recording, change the audio input source of CSGO from here to the correct one for me it was Built-in Audio Analog Stereo
If the source is not changing then create a file on the home directory and name it .alsoftrc and paste the texts from below

Code: Select all

[pulse]
allow-moves=true
Now restart your pc or pulse audio for the settings to take effect. Run CSGO and start a match as shown in above steps. Alt+Tab out of csgo and lunch pavucontrol. Navigate to Recording, change the audio input source of CSGO and this time it will change without any issue.
